Privacy policy

Pholio is made by Cata Sandro, an independent developer. This page explains what data the Pholio website and the Pholio app use, and why. The short version: the app never collects your photos or any personal data, and the website keeps your email only if you join the waitlist.

The website

No cookies, analytics, ads or trackers. Fonts and images load from pholio.cam itself.
Hosting. The site runs on GitHub Pages. To deliver the pages and keep them secure, GitHub processes technical data such as your IP address. See GitHub's privacy statement.

The waitlist

What we keep. Your email address and the date you signed up, and only if you type it into the form.
Why. To email you when Pholio is on the App Store, and rarely after that with news about Pholio. We never sell or share it.
Who stores it. The list is a private Google Sheet in our Google account, so Google stores it for us. Google is based in the United States. See Google's privacy policy.
Your consent. Sending the form is your consent to these emails. You can take it back at any time.
Leaving. Reply to any of our emails, or write to hello@pholio.cam, and we'll remove you.
How long. We keep your email until you ask us to remove it.

The app

Your photos stay yours. Pholio saves your photos and videos into Apple Photos and shows them from there. They never leave your iPhone because of Pholio, and we never see them.
No account, analytics or ads.
Permissions. Pholio asks for the camera, the microphone (for video sound) and your photo library, only to take, save and show your photos and videos. It never uses your location.
Album names. So you can bring your albums back after a reinstall, Pholio keeps their names in your iPhone's keychain. They stay on the device.
Purchases. You pay through Apple. Pholio uses RevenueCat to check what you've bought, so it receives an anonymous ID the app creates and the details of your purchases. It never receives your name, email or photos. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Write to hello@pholio.cam. If you think we've handled your data wrongly, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
